Food resources to keep you, your family, and community going

Lane County has many resources for individuals and families facing food insecurity in their households.

Café 60 meal sites in Lane County will be providing meals-to-go only to participants until further notice. Here is a link to our Café 60 site list: https://www.lcog.org/177/Caf-60-Locations

Meal sites and Meals on Wheels will operate normal hours and schedules. Our staff and volunteers will be doing regular wellness checks in addition to serving meals to go from Café 60 locations and facilitating Meals on Wheels. Catholic Community Services will be distributing 100 premade food boxes from 9-12 on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at both of their locations. They will be closed on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. 

The Dining Room will work to stay in operation, 270 W 8th, Eugene. We will serve to-go meals M-Th at no cost between 12-3pm (or until food runs out) instead of seating guests inside (beginning Monday, March 16).

Bethel School District is offering to-go breakfast and lunch from 10 am – 12 pm, Monday – Friday. Pick up is as Willamette High School, Prairie Mountain School and Malabon Elementary School.

Eugene School District is offering to-go meals Monday–Friday, from 11 a.m.–12 p.m. Pick up locations include Arts & Technology Academy, 1650 West 22nd Ave. (back by roll up doors), Awbrey Park Elementary School, 158 Spring Creek Dr. (TBD), ECCO, 200 N. Monroe St. (lobby). Holt Elementary School, 770 Calvin St. (back cafeteria doors), Howard Elementary School, 700 Howard Ave. (lobby) and South Eugene High School, 400 East 19th Ave. (back cafeteria doors)

Laughing Planet cafe is supplying lunch to children on school lunch assistance during school closures across the state.



Shelter and other resources for people experiencing houselessness

Unhoused community members are at high risk of infection with COVID-19. Here’s where to find help.

Dusk Until Dawn is going 24 hours. Dusk until dawn will turn into dawn until dawn. The county has approved the emergency shelter to stay open during the day so that people who are sick can sleep/rest.


Egan Warming Center will continue to operate based on their existing protocols with consolidated sites.

Eugene Mission is at capacity, protocol has not changed.

15th Night will also be continuing to offer support and resources for unhoused youth and those working with them via phone and text at (541)246-4046. For an in-person response CAHOOTS continues to operate 24/7 currently. If you are in Eugene please call (541)682-5111, for those in Springfield, please call (541)726-3714.

New Roads:Shower and laundry services to youth ages 16-21 at New Roads (941 W 7th) and youth 11-17 at our Station 7 program (931 W 7th). New Roads services are Monday-Friday 8:30 am to 4:45 pm and Station 7 can be accessed 24/7, although we do ask for some advance notice if possible, to schedule basic needs appointments. Utilities and Internet



Local Utilities

EWEB is temporary suspending service disconnections and late fees for customer non-payment during the coronavirus crisis. Starting April 1, our customer-owned utility will expand its EWEB Customer Care program to provide a $260 credit to any customer who loses a job. Affected customers can apply for this bill credit by submitting proof of unemployment benefits from the Oregon Employment Department. Unlike other assistance programs, the job loss benefit doesn’t include an income threshold.


EPUD Eligible customers can receive up to $300 credited to their EPUD account. To apply, contact the agency nearest you:

ERAP  Eligible customers can receive $300 spread out at $75 per month for four months. This program is available to households of senior or disabled persons, or child(ren) aged 18 and under. To apply for this program, contact:

SUB Effective immediately, SUB is increasing our emergency payment fund for low-income customers, Project Share, by $49,000 to $87,000 to help our most vulnerable customers.  Specially trained staff standing by to help customers who need extra time and flexibility in making payments. 541-746-8451. http://www.subutil.com/covid-19-update/


NW Natural Will not disconnect customers who can’t make a payment due to impacts caused by the coronavirus. Customers will continue to receive bills and past-due notices. Centurylink: For the next 60 days, we’ve committed to waive late fees and to not terminate a residential or small business customer’s service due to financial circumstances associated with COVID-19. Spectrum Wireless: Charter will offer free Spectrum broadband and Wi-Fi access for 60 days to households with K-12 and/or college students who do not already have a Spectrum broadband subscription and at any service level up to 100 Mbps. Mental Health Services

HOOTS (Helping Out Our Teens in Schools) will be offering mental health support by phone for students, families and staff of high schools in the 4J, Springfield, Bethel and Oakridge school districts. The White Bird Crisis line will continue to be accessible 24/7 by phone at (541)687-4000. The phone line will be accessible from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday, beginning Monday March 16th and continuing until schools are able to reopen. Staff can provide short term counseling, resource referrals and OHP sign up. For students, families and staff of CHURCHILL, NORTH EUGENE HIGH, SHELDON, SOUTH EUGENE HIGH, ECCO, NETWORK CHARTER, WELLSPRINGS, TWIN RIVERS CHARTER, WILLAMETTE HIGH AND KALAPUYA, please call (541)246-2342.For students, families and staff of ACADEMY OF ARTS AND ACADEMICS, GATEWAYS, SPRINGFIELD HIGH, THURSTON HIGH AND OAKRIDGE HIGH please call (541)246-2332.



Hourglass Community Crisis Center: New hours of operation 11am to 9:30pm 7 days a week. Hourglass can only serve 8 individuals at any given time. There is a new screen process before individuals can enter the program. 


General Community Updates

Lane County Public Health- Non-Emergency Call Center

The call center, which can be reached at 541-682-1380, will be open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. to address concerns or questions about COVID-19.

LTD and EMX

LTD and EMX are changing weekday bus and Ridesource Services to their Saturday schedule starting on March 23rd. They temporarily not charge for fares and asks riders to board from the rear doors.  www.LTD.org

Closures

  • Buckley sobering services for two weeks due to the coronavirus pandemic.

  • Chrysalis Behavioral Health Outpatient Services: Walk-In Hours Suspended. Open on restricted hours from 9am-3pm. Case Managers will do phone sessions.

  • All NAMI Lane County Resource Centers are closed, and all groups, classes, meetings, and presentations are cancelled due to the concerns around COVID-19.

  • White Bird Dental Clinic closed for three weeks.

  • PeaceHealth Woodfield Station same-day clinic is closed

  • SASS Crisis Services Center: Drop-In, Support Groups, In-Person Counseling Suspended. Staff will connect with clients individually to arrange phone conferences for all meetings that are currently scheduled or will make other individual arrangements as needed. Crisis hotline support 24/7 is still available at 541-484-9791 / 844-404-7700.

  • All Eugene and Springfield Libraries locations are Closed 

  • Eugene Rec: Eugene Rec has closed all eight of its community centers and pools. The facilities are expected to reopen March 30. More info at getrec.org.

  • Uhlhorn Day Center is closed.

  • ElRod Center: All group activities at the ElRod Center are canceled or will be rescheduled until further notice. All individual and family therapy sessions will continue as scheduled. 

  • Family Relief Nursery: All sites, Cottage Grove, Creswell and Drain will be closed to the public and no classes until April. More information, contact Family Relief Nursery at 541-942-4835 or go to frncg.org.
